I’m Gail Lee and I grew up going to Allen Park Presbyterian Church in the Detroit area. I had some struggles growing up and always thought my participation in Church helped me immensely. Of course, it was God’s Grace at work, but I was firmly planted there. I joined the Army when I was 18 years old and served in the military for 8 years and then worked for the Army for a total of 21 years. While moving around in the military, I had never changed my membership from my home church. However, when I moved to the St. Louis area, we began coming to Southminster and ultimately, I changed my membership.
I have a daughter, Lee Howard-Ginther, and we began coming to the church when she was a few months old. I was involved with teaching Sunday School, working in the nursery, Women’s Association-Nightingale Circle, Youth Group, and various commissions. I have been a Deacon at Southminster several times. I have been a member of the Christian Education Commission for 17 years first as a member at large, Deacon representative several times and now as an Elder for the past 5 years.
On a personal note I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker and a Geriatric Care Manager. I work at an Elder and Estate planning law firm and am a specialist in Medicaid and Veterans benefits planning. I work at assisting the elderly and their families figure out the best course for their care needs and how to pay for it. I also own a Geriatric Care management company in which we assist individuals with their care needs, allowing them to live as independently as possible. I am involved in several organizations as well, Lion’s Club, Women’s Army Corp Association, and Villas at Lantern Bay Time Share Association in Branson. Between work, business, church and these volunteer organizations I don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.
